Gamble Funeral ServiceRobert Lamar Reed, 88, of Savannah, GA, passed away on November 2, 2025. He was born in Miami, FL.
Following his graduation from Florida State University, Bob married Sandra Sue Thompson in 1961. After their marriage, the couple moved to Ft. Worth, TX, where he studied at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, earning his Master of Divinity degree and becoming an ordained minister.
Feeling called to work with children, Bob served as a youth minister for several years until being led to become a part of the teaching profession, where he worked as a math teacher for 15 years.
Reinventing himself again in his mid forties, Bob spun his mathematical aptitude into a career as a computer programmer for Delta Airlines.
After a twenty year career with Delta, he retired in 2002, moving to Bent Tree in Jasper, GA, where he and Sue soaked up each day of mountain life with their precious dog, Maggie.
