Robert Rich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mission Family Mortuary - Bakersfield on Sep. 22, 2025.
Robert Dale Rich "Booger Bob" January 14, 1956 – August 31, 2025 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert Dale Rich, lovingly known as "Booger Bob," who passed away on August 31, 2025, at the age of 69. Born in Fresno, California, on January 14, 1956, Bob lived a life full of adventure, humor, and heart. A proud Marine Corps veteran and lifelong truck driver, Bob found joy in the freedom of the open road and the beauty of the country he traveled. His backyard was a testament to his creativity and craftsmanship-he built everything from a whimsical bird windmill to a dollhouse, a rabbit hutch, and even his granddaughter's first bike. Bob had a notorious sweet tooth and a love for ice cream and all things sugary. He enjoyed watching shows about history, animals, and westerns. He often had a twinkle in his eye and a joke on his lips. His playful, ornery spirit kept everyone guessing-was he serious, or was the joke on us? More often than not, the joke was on us! Kind-hearted and generous, Bob would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. His legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Rich, his mother Barbara Rich, his brother, Stanley Rich and Grandparents Samuel and Edra Beaver, Grandparents Alfred and Opal Rich, Aunt Lucille Beaver, Uncle Oren and Aunt Lillian Beaver, Uncle John and Aunt Bonnie Laughlin, Uncle Bob and Aunt Sue Jefferson, Uncle Norman and Aunt Jean Cofield, former ex-wife, Reva Fitch, mother of Brad Rich. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Jeannie Rich; his son Brad (Mona Salazar-Rich) Rich, his stepson Jimmy (Briana) Dodson ; grandchildren Austin Rich, Tyler Rich, Kayleigh Rich, and Drew Dodson-Brown; and adoptive grandchildren Kaylee Salazar-Rich, Lilyanna Salazar-Rich, and Joshua Salazar-Rich. He is also survived by his brothers Terry Rich, Steve Rich, his sister Bonnie Mitchell and uncle Benny Beaver. A memorial service will be held at Mission Family Mortuary on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 3pm. All who knew and loved Bob are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
