Robert "Rob" Richardson

Robert "Rob" Richardson, age 74, passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2024. Rob was a 50 year member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), a longtime member of the Illinois Optometric Association (IOA) and retired from his optometry business, Darien Eye Specialists, in 2020. He enjoyed keeping his mind sharp with crossword and Sudoko puzzles, reading books and working on 500 piece puzzles. While Rob was an avid golfer his whole life, he also had a passion for driving his Corvette. He savored watching football, listening to Fox News, and laughing at the Three Stooges and Simpsons. As a leisure pilot, he enjoyed flying, specifically to West Virginia to visit family. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) for many years. It brought great joy to take the grandkids to Chuckee Cheese. He spent his later years snowbirding in Florida as often as possible. Rob was a longtime Moose member and enjoyed many beers with many friends while he was there. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Andrea; cherished children Eric (Kimmey) Richardson and Kristin (Paul) Sikora; treasured grandchildren Lucas and Emma; fond sister Ginnie (John) Banks; dear brothers-in-law Leo Wisniewski and Robert Wisniewski; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Florence (nee Kozloski) Richardson and brother Jack Richardson. Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 3-6 pm. A memorial service will begin at 5:30 pm. Services conclude at the funeral home, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, please take a friend out for a beer and share a fun story about Rob.
