Robert "Bob" Louis Richey, 80, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 6, 2024, on his property in Tomahawk (Town of Nokomis).
Bob was born on October 28, 1943, in Wausau, to the late Raymond and Caroline (Wendorf) Richey. He married the love of his life, Kathleen "Katie" Ollhoff on January 11, 1964, at Zion Lutheran Church in Wausau. The couple was blessed with four children: Sherrie, John, McKenya and Jennifer. Bob was a very active person, working for Wausau Homes and later at the Tomahawk Paper Mill. He was an avid outdoors man and was passionate about fishing and hunting. He loved snowmobiling in the winters with his wife and kids. Bob loved classic cars, restoring several for himself and others. More than anything, Bob loved his family and we find peace that he is reunited with our mom, Katie.
Bob is survived by his loving children, Sherrie (Jeff) Krohn, McKenya (Chad Rutzen) Gore and Jennifer Richey; grandchildren, Nicholas, Rebecca, Heaven, Sydney, Andrew, Nathan, Austin and Ryan; sister, Cathy (Jim) Fehring; nieces, Lisa and Kristen; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 51 years, Katie; son, John; granddaughters, Robyn and Gennie; and sister, Sandy.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Restlawn Memorial Park Chapel. Rev. Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau; resuming on Friday at 2:00 PM at Restlawn and lasting until the time of service.
