It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Jonathon Riffle, affectionately known as Jon, who left us on December 4, 2025, at the age of 67.

Jon was born on May 4, 1958, in Zanesville, a son to the late William and Dolores (Pritchard) Riffle. He will be remembered by family and friends for his big heart and kind spirit.

Jon dedicated many years to working on the railroad with Conrail, where he took pride in being part of an essential industry that kept communities connected. He was a hardworking man who cherished the friendships he made throughout the years.

Throughout a long period of illness, Jon showed remarkable resilience, supported with compassion and care by the staff of Oak Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitative Center. While he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he loved.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Riffle; his former wife, Carol Riffle, who remained an important part of his life; his siblings Lilly Jane Edgell, Joel Riffle, Jerry (Kathy) Riffle and Judy (Don) Young; Jon also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Debbie Riffle, and his brother-in-law, Wyatt Taylor, along with many extended family members and friends who will hold him close in their hearts.

In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by his siblings William Riffle, June Taylor, Mary Bauer, and Jeffrey Riffle; his brother-in-law Gary Edgell; as well as his beloved nephews Eric Edgell and Chris Piccone.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, services will be private, and Jon will be cremated.
