Robert Ritson Obituary

Robert 'Bob' Ritson, Sr., 74, of Greensburg, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024. He was born April 19, 1950, in Greensburg, a son of the late Samuel and Dorothy Havranek Ritson. He was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greensburg. Bob was a 1968 graduate of Hempfield High School and retired from Precision Defense Industries after 44 years. He served on the Hempfield Parks and Recreation Commission, was former president of Fort Allen Volunteers of Recreation, and had been a baseball, softball, and midget football coach. He was a member of the Hempfield Twp. Roosevelt Club. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by two brothers: Samuel Ritson, Jr. and wife Dolores, and John Ritson and wife Susan. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Neubauer Ritson; two children: Robert Ritson, Jr. and wife Maureen, of Hempfield Twp., and Trisha Simon and husband Tom, of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Taylor Ritson, Megan Ritson, and Shaun Simon; a brother, Richard Ritson, of Adamsburg; a sister, Cheryl Richardson, of Jeannette; the following sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: MaryAnn and CB Hegan, of Ligonier, Lucy and Andy Mento, of Hempfield Twp., and Earl and Alexandra Neubauer, of Greer, SC; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to Ray Paronish for his advice and caring and to Julia, Angel, Maura, and Brenda from Bridges Hospice for their care and kindness. Bob was always the life of any party. His joy of life will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 'Dad' and 'Pappy' stories will be lovingly shared with future grandchildren and family. Trish, Rob and family. Im very sorry . Your Dad was a Awesome Coach and person. Over 30 years later i can remember having the benefit to swim over your home in Fort Allen after a baseball game. One thing is for-sure he brought fun and enjoyment each and every-time i was fortunate to be around him. Rest In Peace Coach Ritson
