Robert Robe Obituary
May 10, 1947 - June 29, 2025
Wichita, Kansas - Robert Chris Robe passed away in Wichita, Kansas, on June 29, 2025, from the effects of Primary Progressive Aphasia. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Debra Robe, and stepsons Nick and Mike (Emily) Drake and granddaughters, Elanor Dawn and Charlotte Ann Drake. Further, Chris is survived by his children, Hilary Kupersmith (Andrew) and Sarah and Barrett Robe from a prior marriage to Diane Oliver Joesph.
Born May 10, 1947, Chris was raised in Arkansas City, Kansas. He enrolled at KU, where he joined the Sigma Chi fraternity. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Chris entered KU Law School and received his Juris Doctor in 1972. After enlisting in the Kansas National Guard, he went to work for Deloitte & Touche in Kansas City. Later Chris moved to Wichita to join the law firm of Bever Dye Mustard and Berlin, where he soon became a partner.
In 2016, Chris was named "Best Lawyers 'Lawyer of the Year'". In 2018, he was listed in "The Best Lawyers in America for Wichita, KS, in the practice of ERISA law and Trusts and Estates." He also served as Past President of the Kansas Bar's Tax Law Section and Board Member of the Wichita Chapter of the Kansas Society of CPA's Chris also was an active participant in community organizations throughout his life, including the Salvation Army, Wagonmasters Club, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and the Rotary Club.
Some of Chris' passions were: KU Jayhawk sports, fly fishing and tennis. He loved fishing with his brother, Mike Robe of Los Angeles, in dozens of rivers throughout the Rocky Mountains.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Arthur Robe and Marcalee Robe of Arkansas City, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time.
