Robert Peele Roberts

Robert Peele Roberts, known as Bobby, was called to his home in heaven August 13, 2025. Born May, 1948, he was the youngest son of Judge J.W.H. Roberts and Jane Ross Roberts. Bobby was born in Greenville, NC in the old Pitt Memorial Hospital.
Bobby is survived by his brother, Eugene Ross Roberts (Carolyn) of Kinston and his sister, Carole Roberts Wilson, of Sumter, SC. His eldest brother, James Rodney Roberts (Nina), Preceded him in death. Bobby was a lifelong member of Jarvis Memorial Methodist Church in Greenville, NC.
Bobby leaves behind eight adoring nieces and nephew: Genele Roberts Byrd, James Riley, Roberts, Susie Roberts Cummins, Kathy Roberts Ingram, Jason Allan Mortez, and Bracey Mortez Makowske. His namesake, Robert Anthony Wilson, proceeded him in death.
Bobby's lifelong best friend was Charles Rogers of Greenville. They remained friends until Charle's death.
Bobby graduated from J.H. Rose High School in Greenville and attained a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from East Carolina University. He loved history and could recite facts and figures without hesitation. His instant wit, puns, and intelligence both amazed and entertained all who knew him.
Of all his assets, his love for his family, and his humility, defined the kind of person he was. Until poor health limited him at the age of sixty, Bobby enjoyed life to its fullest. He loved being a rural postal carrier because of his interactions among others. Spending time at the river was a joy from the time he was a small child. Visiting his sister in South Carolina and delighting in being her children's favorite uncle was a great joy to him, as well as to them.
Bobby will be remembered for his big heart, his grace in accepting others without judgement, and his kindness toward all. He has left a beautiful place in each of us.
