Robert Rose Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home - Osceola on Jan. 29, 2026.
Robert (Bob) A. Rose, 78 of Three Rivers, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 with his loving daughter (Jennifer) and soulmate (Joan Miller) beside him.

Bob was a former resident of the South Bend area (Indiana), and a proud graduate of John Adams High School (1966). He went on to graduate from the Acme Institute of Technology (1969) and dedicated many years to Raco, Inc. as a Tool and Dye Engineer followed by AM General Corporation as a Facilities Engineer before retirement.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Duane and Agnes Rose (Archambeault); son, Jonathon Rose; brother, John Rose; and sister, Judy Rose-Walley. His memory will be lovingly carried on by his daughter Jennifer (Patrick) Daly and their children Patrick Jr. and Payton; dearest friend and soulmate, Joan Miller; his sister, Sharon Struck; and daughter-in-law Katie (Jonathon) Rose.

Bob absolutely loved his country music and was a truly talented line dancer. He spent years line dancing at the Elks Club in Mishawaka, Moose Lodge in South Bend, and frequented the former Heartland in South Bend. He was also a mechanic and enjoyed designing and building muscle cars including his favorite late 60s and early 70s Chevy Novas. He raced many a quarter mile at Osceola Dragway (Indiana) and continued his car tinkering passions in his "Hot Rod Shop" in Three Rivers/Jones Michigan. He loved attending NHRA events, watching NASCAR races and cheering on the Chicago Bears. He looked forward to the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis and Northern Nationals at Martin every year to enjoy that adrenaline rush from those top fuel dragsters and funny cars.

Bob referred to himself as the Lone Wolf but his loving grandkids called him Gpa. His love for his family ran deep, was true, and selfless. He routinely helped manage his daughter and son-in-law's small farm in Three Rivers Michigan and routinely babysat his grandkids. Over the years he made many friends at Osceola Dragway and at the single's dances around Michiana. He was a wonderful dad and Gpa and will forever be in our hearts.

Bob will be laid to rest with his beloved parents and siblings at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Indiana. A private gathering will be held in his honor at his favorite local restaurant.
