Robert Wilson Rowley

Robert Wilson Rowley, 79, of Fairmont passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 03, 2025. He was born in Washington, District of Columbia on July 12, 1946, a son of the late John Wilson and Lavennia Mae Skinner Rowley.

He proudly served his country in the United State Air Force. He worked as an Electronics Technician for AT&T. Following his retirement from AT&T, he worked for BAE, Mantech and Northrop Grumman for 12 years, contract companies for the FBI. Robert enjoyed traveling and vacations with his wife and family. He took some aviation lessons and enjoyed books and reading. He was fond of electronics and enjoyed tinkering with them and was a radio operator. He was an animal lover and enjoyed the time with his dogs Benny, Bella and Lily. He loved most the time spent with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Nancy Smith Rowley; four sons Thomas William Rowley and his wife Linda Kay, James Allen Burnside, John Edward Burnside and his wife Shanan Riley, and Michael Stephen Burnside and his wife Angela Lynn; three brothers John Rowley and his wife Carol, Fred Rowley and his wife Sandy and Ralph Rowley and his wife Kim; one sister Cathy Johnston; grandchildren Amber Thompson, Brandon Rowley, Christina Rowley, Deanna Rowley, Ethan Rowley, Erin Burnside, Abby Burnside, Kamari Lopez, Kylea Lopez, Haidyn Burnside, Michael Holstein, and Carlie Pace; two great grandchildren Rowan Thompson and Brayden Golden-Rowley; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 06, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Richards officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens where full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans' Honor Guard and assisted by the United States Air Force.
