Robert Scott Rudisill

Robert Scott Rudisill, age 74, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Scott was born August 11,1951 to the late Ben Richard Rudisill and Dorothy Butler Rudisill and grew up in Cherryville, North Carolina.

He attended McCallie Military School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC.

Scott's greatest love was the water, and he worked for 40 years in the marine industry, where he worked as a yacht captain for Hatteras Yachts for many years and then a private captain delivering yachts up and down the Eastern coast to the Bahamas.

Scott was known for his sense of humor and many famous stories during his life.

He is survived by his loving partner in life, Renee Cambria; his beloved son, Sidney Taylor Rudisill and his wife Chelsea McNeil; his cherished grandchildren, Liv Sewell, Colt Sewell and Kingston Olds; his treasured brothers, Ben Rudisill and his wife Janet Rudisill, and Carl Rudisill and his wife Shirley Rudisill; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held privately to honor Scott's legacy and life. Memories to be shared with family and friends. Scott's family has entrusted his care to Wilmington Funeral & Cremation, 1535 S. 41st Street, Wilmington NC 28403.
