Robert "Rob" John Ryan
July 31, 1977 - December 21, 2025
Robert "Rob" John Ryan passed away suddenly on December 21st at the age of 48. He was born in Somers Point and raised in Cologne by his loving parents, Jack and Marilyn Ryan. Rob attended Absegami High School and graduated in 2004 from Atlantic Cape Community College with an Associate's Degree in General Studies. He later transferred to Stockton University, where he graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and earned a place on the Dean's List for two consecutive years. Music was an integral part of Rob's life from the time he was born and remained so throughout his life. He was raised in a home filled with music by both of his parents and his beloved Mamie. His talent can be witnessed through his videos he shared on Instagram. Rob will forever be known for his dry sense of humor, his sarcastic wit and brilliant comebacks are forever embedded in the fabric of his life and the memories of those who loved him. Rob was a master craftsman skilled in painting, carpentry, and electrical work. He was deeply proud of the work he created, which allowed him to complete renovations on the home he cherished so much. He worked for 10 years at Higher Power Electrical, LLC, and most recently was self-employed, specializing in both commercial and residential projects. Rob was also a longtime DJ at Chickie and Pete's in Egg Harbor Township, providing entertainment during NFL seasons and playoffs. An avid Philadelphia sports fan, he bled green for his beloved Eagles and red for his cherished Phillies. Rob's most honored title was Dad. His love for his daughter, Jesimina, was immeasurable, and he remained a devoted and proud father throughout his life. We take comfort in knowing Rob was welcomed into Heaven by his paternal grandparents, John "Jack" and Anne Ryan; his adoring maternal grandmother, Magdalen "Mamie" Mohn; his best friend and cousin, Nicky "Bigger" Damiano; Dorothy "Dotsie" Mohn (Aunt); Robert "Bobby" Lee Mohn (Uncle), and Dawn Fischer Tees (Aunt). Rob will forever be missed and loved by his mother, Marilyn Mohn Ryan; his devoted father, Jack Ryan and his wife Linda; his daughter, Jesimina Ryan; his sisters, Tara Ryan (Chris), and Marilyn Shurig; and his nieces and nephews: Ryan McDermott, Gabe McDermott, Charles "Chaly" Shurig, Bianca Fritz, Jackson Fritz, Kylie Kamden; and his lifelong best friend Don Higbee. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. A public pass-through visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with services immediately following from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., on Tuesday, December 30th, at Wimberg's Funeral Home, 211 Great Creek Road, Galloway, NJ 08205.
