Mr. Robert Anthony Samms, age 77 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away peacefully at this home on April 14, 2025.
He was born on November 6, 1947 in Baltimore, MD to the late Harry Robert Samms and Dorothy Hawn Samms. Robert had been a diesel mechanic instructor, sold life insurance and installed flooring. His proudest moment was serving his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict and later the U.S. Coast Guard. Robert loved sailing and the ocean, NASCAR and was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Left to cherish is memory are; his wife, Luana Sue Ross Rineer, sons, Andrew Samms and Matthew Samms, sister, Bonnie Overly, along with four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
To honor Robert's request he will be cremated and no service will be held.
Services entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
