It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert John Sanese, 84, on January 26, 2025 after a brief illness. Robert was born on November 9, 1940 to John and Stella Sanese of the Bronx, NY. Robert attended Blessed Sacrament High School and Iona College, both in New Rochelle, NY. Robert proudly served in the National Guard.
Robert married Phyllis DeYorgi on November 20, 1971. He was a devoted husband and loving father to Christine and John. His greatest pride were his grandchildren, Nina and Joey and loved attending their many sporting events to cheer them on.
Robert is survived by his wife, Phyllis, son, John and wife, Joanna, daughter-in-law, Danielle, grandchildren, Nina and Joey, sister, Stella Ann Howard, niece Aimee Howard Washicosky, nephew, Craig Howard and families. Preceding Robert in death is his beloved daughter, Christine.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2025, 4-9pm, at Ballard-Durand Elmsford Funeral Home 72 East Main Street, Elmsford New York. A funeral mass will take place on Friday, January 31, 2025 10am, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 59 East Main Street, Elmsford, NY with a burial following at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY.
