Robert Savarin, age 71, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, surrounded by love and comfort, with his longtime partner Betty Hurst at his side.
Born on February 27, 1954, in Youngstown, Ohio, Robert lived a life rooted in hard work, creativity, and simple joys. A lifelong carpenter, he had a gift for building and fixing things. When he wasn’t working with wood, he could be found in the kitchen cooking or outside tending his garden.
Robert shared 20 meaningful years with Betty and he held close her children, Teresa, Kim, and Theo, who were an important part of his life. He is survived by his siblings John Savarin, George Savarin, Judy Santilli, Phyllis Began, and Theresa Warren, along with extended family and friends who will miss him deeply.
In accordance with Robert’s wishes, no public services will be held. A private celebration of life will take place at the family cabin in Tionesta, Pennsylvania, where those closest to him will honor his memory in a way that reflects who he truly was.
