Robert John "Bob" Scharn

Robert "Bob" Scharn, 81, of Hudson, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline "Jackie" (Killam) Scharn, who passed away on June 18, 2023.
Born in Lowell, MA, Bob was the son of the late Nelson and Alice (Bettencourt) Scharn. He graduated from Chelmsford High School with the Class of 1962. Bob began his working life as the proprietor of the Vinal Square Barber Shop before owning and operating RJ Scharn Backhoe, where he dug for septic systems and foundations. He later owned The Town Meeting Restaurant in Chelmsford, MA for 18 years. After the restaurant, Bob worked as the Facilities Manager at Granite State Subaru for 17 years, where he worked alongside his wife Jackie. He also took part in several side businesses throughout his life, including selling modular homes.
Bob was a lifelong member of the Chelmsford Elks Lodge 2310. He was the vocalist and trumpet player in the Lenny James Cortet. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating at Lake Winnipesaukee, and spending time with friends in the lake community. Bob also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events, playing softball for the Chelmsford Elks team, and participating in poker and other card games. He liked playing the Powerball and scratch tickets and was well known for being outgoing and sociable. His family remembers him for making a positive impact on all that surrounded him showing great love, friendship, and sense of humor.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Deana Scharn of Hudson, NH; his daughters, Tracy and her husband Eric Braff of Salem, OR, and Heidi Scharn and her partner Scott Dinnigan of Chelmsford, MA; his brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Patty Scharn of Clearwater, FL; and his sister, Elaine Hogan of Deerfield, NH. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Brendan Braff and his wife Rachel of Salem, OR; Kraig Scharn and his fiancée Courtney Miller of Salem, NH; Adam Scharn of Hudson, NH; and Alyssa Scharn of Hudson, NH; along with his great-grandchildren Rylee, Beckett, Hazel and August.
He was predeceased by his brother Baby Nelson Scharn, his sister Allyson Coulombe, and his brother-in-law Mark Hogan.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be at Dolan Funeral Home in North Chelmsford, MA on Sunday Dec. 14th from noon to 4.
