Bob Schepker, 87 of Jefferson City passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He was born in Frog Hollow, Cole County, just west of Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of the late Frank and Louise (Wallendorf) Schepker, who preceded him in death. On October 10, 1959, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Eynard in Bonnets Mills, Missouri, they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Bob was graduate of St. Peter High School.
He was enlisted in the US Army Reserves from 1958 to 1964. He retired from the State of Missouri after 42 years of service.
Bob was an original member of the Cole County Volunteer Fire Department, serving many years. His children have fond memories of the special ring tone indicating that something was on fire somewhere in the county. He was a member of the American Legion Post #5, a member of the DAV post #17. Bob and Mary Ann were members of St. Joseph Cathedral Parish for over 60 years.
Bob loved wood working and made many projects for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed trout fishing, playing cards, and watching St. Louis Cardinals.
Bob is survived by his sons Mark Schepker (Debbie) of Edgewood, Washington, Keith Schepker (Nina) of Linn, Missouri, and his daughter Sandy (Sam) Oborny (David) of Marion, Kansas, his sister Alice Wekenborg, sister-in-law Elaine Steele; grandchildren, Dustin, Nathan, Morgan, Emma and Jacob Schepker, Tom, Tabitha, and Greg Oborny. He will also be deeply missed by his rescue cat Sofi. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Schepker, his son Greg Schepker and one brother Jack Schepker.
A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Friends and Family will be received following the prayer service from 4 to 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Cathedral of St. Joseph on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 10 am with Rev. Msgr. Robert Kurwicki, V.G. officiating. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice Compassus or to the Jefferson City DAV.

My sympathies & prayers to the family, Bob was such a sweet, kind gentleman. I enjoyed our visits & phone calls, I regret not having a chance to say goodbye to him.
