Born on June 29, 1951, in Brooklyn, NY, Robert was the beloved son of the late John and Rita (Tedaldi) Schiavone.
Robert spent many years working as a garbologist for the Department of Sanitation in New York City, work he took great pride in, and later as a stagehand at West Point, where he brought dedication and quiet strength to every performance behind the scenes.
On November 4, 1978, he married the love of his life, Louann. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
Robert also served his community with heart and courage as a member of the Mountain Lodge Volunteer Fire Department.
More than his work or service, Robert will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud and loving father, and a loyal friend. His hardworking spirit, adventurous soul, and fun-loving nature touched everyone who had the joy of knowing him.
He was truly loved by many and he will be deeply missed.
Surviving are: his wife Louann Schiavone, his daughter Paulese Schiavone and her children; Gerrit, Louann and John Polman, his son Robert Schiavone Jr., his wife Stacy, their daughter Rita and son Bobby, siblings; Geraldine Fogarty, Billy Schiavone, Stephen Schiavone, and Christine Odorisio as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his daughter Regina and brother John Schiavone.
Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, October 6, 2025 from 1:00pm to 3:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm the Gray Parker Funeral Home, Inc. 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY 12771.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 10:00 am at the St. Mary's R.C Church, Port Jervis, NY 12771 with Rev. Anthony Giacona officiating.
Burial to follow at the Laurel Grove Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.
Donations in Robert's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial & Honor Program, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, T.N. 38105-1942 or Hospice Of Orange And Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, N.Y. 12550.
