Robert Seals, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend peacefully departed from this world on November 22, 2024, at the age of 90 in Dayton, Ohio. Born on January 15, 1934, in Enfield, North Carolina, Robert’s life was a testament to unwavering love and devotion, qualities that defined him as a good and loving man.
Robert gave a significant part of his life to the Labors International Union of North America Local 1410, retiring with pride after years of hard work and commitment. His contribution to the labor force reflected not only his strong work ethic but also his desire to support and uplift his family and community.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Robert found joy and solace in the world of sports. He was an ardent lover of baseball and football, passionately following his teams and engaging in conversations that ignited his spirit. These interests were more than mere hobbies; they were avenues through which he connected with loved ones and fostered lasting friendships.
He is survived by his adoring wife, Pamela D. Seals, who shared countless cherished moments with him. Their bond was a beautiful example of partnership and love, one that inspired those around them. Robert's daughter, Rhonda Seals, and son, Coleman Harris, treasure the memories and life lessons instilled in them by their father. As a proud grandfather, he leaves behind his grandkids, Shayla Chatman and Shalyce Seals and his 3 great-grandkids, who were bright lights in his life, bringing him immeasurable joy and happiness.
He is also survived by his siblings-in-law, Larry (Pamela) Wilkerson and Mary Tidwell and his nephews, Floyd (Diane) Tidwell and Kimble (Crystal) Waller, who remember him fondly. Additionally, he leaves behind treasured friends, Rodger Thompson and Gwathney Taliaferro, who were fortunate to have shared in the warmth of his companionship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Tommie Seals, along with his siblings Louella Tidwell, Elizabeth Seals, Clarence Seals, Love Seals, and Tommy Seals. Their absence is felt deeply, but Robert’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.
Robert Seals’ life was a beautiful journey characterized by love, hard work, and the joys of family and friendship. He will be profoundly missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who had the honor of knowing him.
A memorial gathering to honor Robert's life will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424.
