Robert Selleck Obituary

Robert A Selleck
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert A. Selleck (Bob), beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bob, known by his family and friends as a kind and generous soul, passed away at the age of 95 on March 14, 2025.
A dedicated and brilliant aerospace engineer with Sikorsky Aircraft, Bob had a long and distinguished career designing and patenting vital safety features for military helicopters, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and expertise that will continue to inspire future generations of engineers. Outside of work, he continued his love of aviation as a private pilot. He loved sharing his joy and frequently flew with family and friends to airports all over the Northeast to enjoy lunch and sightseeing.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob was a true friend to all. His warmth, humor, and kindness drew people to him, and his home was always open for those seeking good company and a hearty laugh. He was known for his incredible storytelling ability and had an unmatched talent for making everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room. Whether hosting lively gatherings or simply sharing a joke over a drink, Bob's presence was a gift to those around him.
He also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially a warm California afternoon and a well-made VO Old Fashioned. His quick smile, hearty laugh, and countless stories will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Born August 1, 1929, in Danbury CT, Bob is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Bernadette (Bunny); daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Dom; grandchildren, Alexandra and Nick; great-grandchildren, Emmett and Fletcher; siblings, David, Cindy, Joanne, and predeceased by Nathaniel.
His memory will live on in the stories we continue to share, the lessons he taught us, and the love he gave so freely.

Bob is a truly wonderful person that will be missed by everyone. Every time I could be in Connecticut for family gatherings, I could just sit there and listen to Bob for hours because he was such an intelligent, interesting and funny person. He always had a smile on his face and brought out the best in everyone. Rest in peace, Bob. Condolences to Bunny, Kristy and the rest of the family.

I met Bob and Bunny when I was playing guitar with Nicole Pasternak, at a restaurant in Darien ... Matsuri then later Fuji, where we played for many years. Bob was a true lover of music. Before moving ( and Covid) they came to hear me play at many venues. We become friends and I was so sorry to hear that Bob was having health issues and has passed. Deepest condolences.

I remember Bob and Bunny with our lively discussion driving them to and from the airports. It was my pleasure to service them. What a great man. He will be missed

Bob was both family and friend and the best of each. He was funny, clever, inventive. And always kind. Impossible to overstate what a great guy we were lucky to know.

Socially for music I recently lost my husband after 70 years of marriage. It is very difficult but you must keep busy and do what you enjoy.

Bob Selleck was one of the most special people I have ever met. We spent many evenings with Bob and his lovely wife, Bunny. Bob was warm, intelligent, generous, etc. etc. I can't say enough wonderful things about him. As a couple, Bob and Bunny were so unique. It's hard to find a marriage like that. We felt honored to be their friends. We're very grateful for the many evenings we spent with them sharing our music. We will miss you Bob more than I can express. RIP
