Robert Sisk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cox Funeral Homes - Bastrop Chapel on Dec. 30, 2025.
ROBERT CHARLES SISK, JR.
COX FUNERAL HOME
BASTROP, LOUISIANA
Mr. Robert Charles Sisk, Jr. of Monroe, Louisiana and a longtime resident of Bastrop, Louisiana was born March 9, 1936 in Bastrop. His faith was made sight on the evening of December 28, 2025 as he passed from this life at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
Mr. Sisk was preceded in death by his son, Charles David Sisk; his parents, Yvonne Nesbit Sisk, Robert Charles Sisk, and Jewel Estelle Sisk; and his beloved grandparents, Alma Sisk and Grover C. Sisk.
From humble beginnings, Charles was a graduate of Bastrop High School and later joined the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany as part of the occupation forces. Upon returning home, he obtained employment at the International Paper Mill. While working days at the mill, he attended night classes to earn a business degree from Northeast Louisiana University (now the University of Louisiana at Monroe). Through hard work, discipline, and determination, he achieved notable success throughout his life.
Charles served Bastrop's residential community as the founder of Bastrop Realty. He also served as Chairman of the Bank of Morehouse and was a key contributor to numerous commercial developments in Bastrop, including Pizza Hut, Long-John Silver's, Sherwin-Williams, Radio Shack, Payless Shoes, Sonic Drive-In, the Baron House Apartments, and other properties and residential subdivisions that helped shape Bastrop into what it is today. Later, Charles founded Sisk Investment Company, Inc., where he continued to build a lasting legacy for more than twenty years. He served as President of the Morehouse Country Club and gave generously of his time through service on countless boards and committees, including First United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, and Gideons International.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patrice Winegeart Sisk; his four children. John Robert Sisk, Paul Edward Sisk (Angie), Sarah Elizabeth Wise, and Mark Alexander Sisk (Shannah); and thirteen grandchildren, Charles David Sisk, Jr., Samuel Sisk, Joseph Sisk, Blaire Sisk, Colby Alexander Hermansen, Josh Sisk (Heather), Chloe Elizabeth Sisk, Kennedy Sofia Sisk, Noel Robert Wise, Britain Manning Wise, Madeline Rose Sisk, Amelia Catherine Sisk, and Caroline Marie Sisk. He is also survived by extended family members and numerous friends whose lives he touched. He will be remembered for his bright smile, his encouraging words, his tenacity and drive, his tireless work ethic, and his deep love for his family.
A time of visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, January 3, 2025 at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop followed by funeral services honoring Charles' life at 1:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home with Reverend John O'Leary officiating. Committal services with military honors will be at Christ Church Cemetery of Bastrop under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
Serving as Mr. Sisk pallbearers are his sons, Paul Sisk and Mark Sisk, his grandson, Josh Sisk, along with Dan Robertson, Phillip Lester, Ben Cascio, and Carter Cascio. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Patrick and John Michael Yeldell.
