Robert "Bob" Allan Snair, a Scottsdale, Arizona resident originally from Montreal, Canada, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the age of 68.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Allan and Winnie, and his brother, Warren "Skip" Snair. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Cathy (Slavin) Snair, cherished daughter, Lindsay (Snair) Dell'Ergo, and son-in-law Brian Dell'Ergo; adored grandchildren Sullivan and Winslow Dell'Ergo; and dear sister, Wendy Rhodes.
Bob was born in Montreal and attended The University of New Brunswick. In his youth, he enjoyed playing football and listening to live music. In his later years he was fortunate to find a career that aligned with his personal passions. His lifelong career in wire and cable sales with Alcan (later General Cable) took him across Canada and the United States. He relished in the opportunity to explore new places, forge new friendships, savor delicious meals and robust wines, and indulging in golf and fishing expeditions - all enjoyable "requirements" of his work. After retirement, he developed a newfound passion for health and fitness, spending each day with his gym crew.
Most recently, Bob experienced the indescribable joy in becoming a grandfather. To them, and them only, Bob was affectionately known as "Flaco" - a somewhat ironic nickname meaning "thin or skinny" in Spanish, and a reference to famed musician, Flaco Jimenez - that he chose to be called in lieu of more traditional grandfatherly titles. Though his time with his beloved grandchildren was cut short, he left an enduring legacy, and "Flaco" will forever live on in the hearts of Winnie and Sully.
The family is planning a private celebration of life in coming months. However, Bob is loved by a great many people, and we believe that he would want you to remember him by doing the things he loved so dearly - gather with your loved ones, share great stories and laughter, enjoy a good bottle of wine under the backdrop of your favorite music, and toast one last glass to our loved Bob "Flaco" Snair.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix.
