Remembering Robert "Alan" Snow
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alan Snow. A man whose hands could fix about anything, and whose heart was always open to those he loved. He departed this world on August 29, 2025. Leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and love that will never be forgotten. Born May 17, 1951, in New Albany, Indiana. Alan grew up with the values of hard work and loyalty that would carry him through his life. He was the kind of man who could build, mend, or repair anything placed in front of him – A true craftsman and problem solver. To his children, he was a father with a steady and sometimes stern hand, teaching lessons that shaped them into who they are today. To his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he was a soft safe place to land, a grandpa with a big heart who always had time for a story, a laugh or a hug.
Alan was a country boy at heart – Nevermore at peace than when he had a fishing pole in hand or was out in the woods hunting with his favorite people. He lived simply, loved deeply, and carried himself with the honesty and humility of a man who knew the value of the little things in life.
He was also a brother, a friend, and a neighbor you could always depend on – The kind of man that would show up with tools in his truck and a helping hand, no questions asked. His presence made life a little brighter, a little easier, and a lot more meaningful to all that knew him.
Alan is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years and mother of his children, Janet Snow. Brother, David Snow. Children and their spouses, Alan Snow, Bobby Snow and Tricia Spears, Jason Snow and Nancy Husband, John Gammons Jr. and Lynn Hensley, Roy Gammons and Angie Gammons.
Also, grandchildren, Jessica Cook, Bobby Snow Jr, John Gammons 3rd, Eric Hensley, Michael Gammons, Bryan Gammons, Jenna Gammons, Jason Snow, Bobby Snow, Corey Snow, Suzzanne Snow, December Snow, and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends including one special friend Timmy Winburn.
Preceded in death by his grandmother Ester Brashear, mother Laura "Louise" Snow, father Ray Snow, stepfather Roy Compton and a dear friend Jimmy Giles.

Though we will miss him dearly, we take comfort in knowing that his lessons, laughter, and love will live on in all of us. Alan was a man of grit and grace – A fixer, a fisherman, a hunter, and most of all, a man with a heart as wide as the horizon.
