ROBERT SNYDER Obituary

ROBERT L. SNYDER Newton - Robert L. "Bob" Snyder, 94, passed away on July 30, 2024, in Newton, KS. Born on August 12, 1929, in Cheraw, CO, Bob led a truly remarkable life. Bob's unswerving faith in his Lord guided him through a long life of adventure, hard work, generosity and unconditional love for his family. Bob's life was one of constant exploration and learning. He had a passion for traveling, which took him to various corners of the world where he immersed himself in local cultures and languages, particularly Spanish. He worked in agriculture, radio, construction and electronics, being self-employed most of his life. The customer always came first, and he loved working with his hands, crafting and fixing things with skill and creativity. Bob was deeply loved and will be missed by his family and innumerable friends. He is survived by his devoted second wife of 19 years, Marilyn, 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, as well as 3 younger brothers. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Audrey, 1 grandchild, 1 great-grandchild, and 2 older brothers. Bob's generosity continues even after his death. He has donated his body to Wichita University School of Medicine to help further the education of aspiring young physicians. Bob's legacy of faith, curiosity, and generosity have set a high bar for future generations to strive for, and will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. A service celebrating Bob's life will be held at Newton Bible Church on Saturday, August 24 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob's memory may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, an organization which has been a great blessing to both Bob and his family.
