Robert Thomas Snyder, 85 of Herndon, Virginia passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Born Thursday, March 28, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Russel and Ruth Snyder. Robert was the second born son of seven siblings - Russell (predeceased), Raymond, Richard, Ruth, Dorothy (predeceased), and Elizabeth. Robert graduated from North Penn High School on June 9, 1958. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University on June 17, 1967 after serving four years in the United States Navy. During his time in the US Navy, he circumnavigated our globe twice, and officially became a member of The Golden Order of Latitude Zero. Robert was an avid golfer achieving a "hole in one"while a member of a senior golfing group during his retirement years. His earlier sport was volleyball which he played well into his middle years. As a dad, he attended as many of his children's events as able, often coaching, keeping score and cheering loudly. He was the beloved husband of Mary M. DeLapp - Snyder for nearly forty years, an anniversary that he missed by only three weeks. Robert is survived by his loving family including his wife, Mary M. DeLapp - Snyder; Children, Steven Snyder, Susan Bensen, Linda Taggart and Michelle Schlosser; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, 4 nieces and 5 nephews and many other family and friends. Services will be held privately. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Feed the Children in Robert's honor.
