A Celebration of Life for Cecil L. Snyder, 67, Lawrence, KS will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at the Clinton Presbyterian Church (590 N 1200 Rd Lawrence, KS, 66047). The family will greet friends at the Celebration. Cecil will be laid to rest at the Eudora Cemetery at a later date. He died Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Cecil was born on April 16, 1958, in Paola, KS the son of Kenneth L. Snyder and Patricia L. "Pat" Watkins. He lived in Eudora most of his childhood and attended Eudora High School. He worked for many years in residential construction while living in Lawrence. He was active in sports and had a love for all things sports related. He could often be found watching football or basketball and cheering for the Kansas Jayhawks or Kansas City Chiefs. He was known for always offering a helping hand to anyone he met and expecting nothing in return. He was strong and resilient yet kind and compassionate.

Survivors include his father, Kenneth Snyder of Osawatomie, KS, his son, Chad Snyder (wife, Delaney), daughter, Kristina Meuffel, and grandchildren Piper, Lilly, Landon, Lynley, and Murphy of Lawrence.

Surviving siblings include Jackie Clover (husband, Lee), Kelly Reese (husband, Steve), Thomas Snyder (wife, Laury) all of Lawrence, KS; Virginia Mapes (husband, Tommy) of Sweet Springs, MO; Dennis Snyder (wife, Evonna) of LaCygne, KS; Marsha McKinney of Osawatomie; Jason Snyder (wife, Dee) of Topeka, KS and Melissa Long (husband, Paul) of Lenexa, KS. Additional survivors include his uncle, Billy McClanahan, of Reno, KS and his aunt, Kathryn Gerken of Paola, KS.

He was preceded in death by his mother Pat Watkins, his stepmother Darlene Snyder, his sisters Donna Gibson and Linda Pearce, his brother Terry Truhe, his uncle Tommy McClanahan, his aunt Mary Jo Scott, and his nephew Kyle Snyder.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
