Robert Marvin Snyder

October 24, 1954 ~ November 1, 2025

Robert M. Snyder, 71, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025. Born on October 24, 1954, at Fort Ord Army Post in California, Robert was the son of Charles M. Snyder and Florence M. (Miller) Snyder. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edward E. Snyder (stillborn). He is survived by his sons, Johnathan R. Snyder and Andrew T. Snyder, and his beloved granddaughter, Stella A. Snyder. He is also survived by his four brothers: Charles M. Jr., James M., Ronald M., and Louis M.

Robert leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and an unwavering love for his country. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1993 as a 29E Radio Repair Specialist and 91G Behavioral Science Specialist, stationed at McNair Kaserne in Hochst, West Germany and Fort Lewis, Washington. An expert marksman, Robert was always quick to remind others what that meant for the enemy.

We honor Robert’s service and sacrifice to his country. His courage, dedication, and love for freedom will never be forgotten.

A perpetual dreamer, Robert was motivated by the pursuit of bigger and better things. He never asked much from others but was always ready to share wisdom and guidance to help those around him succeed.

Robert will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the lives he touched and the values he instilled.

A committal service with full military honors will be held at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th Street, Marion, Indiana 46953 in the spring on April 8, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
