Robert H. Soderblom

Robert H. Soderblom, 89 of Ithaca, NY passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Cayuga Medical Center.
He was born in Manhattan, NY on May 30, 1934 to the late George and Sigrid Isaacson Soderblom. He received his Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate of Education degrees all from Temple University and was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, the premier professional association for educators. Robert was a US Army veteran serving from 1956-1962. His love and enthusiasm for learning led him to a career of over 40 years educating students and future teachers in the U.S. as well as England, The Gambia, Ghana, China and The Marshall Islands.
Robert was married to Carol for 27 years prior to her death on December 9, 1984.He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara Mitchelson Crosley Soderblom; his children, Paul (Jen) Soderblom, Peter (Lisa) Soderblom, Monika (Humberto) Krumenaker, Jaymee (Dan) Miller, Kathleen (Dan) Murphy and Barbara (Corey) Miklus; grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Stephanie, Caelan, Zoe, Margaret, Carter, Andrew, Michael, Jillian, Daniel, Delaney and Molly; nieces and nephews. In addition, he was predeceased by his brother, Charles Soderblom.
Calling hours will be held from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY. A Mass of Christan Burial will be held at at 11 am on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Ithaca, NY. Burial will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research.
