Robert Curtis Southard, 82, of Norfork, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born on March 27, 1943, in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Clyde and Abitha (Hughes) Southard. Robert graduated from Norfork High School in 1961. He retired from Baxter Lab after working there for over 32 years. Robert loved the outdoors and raising beagles that he would enter into field trial competitions. His favorite thing to do was visit with friends and family. Robert attended Norfork First Baptist Church.
Robert is survived by four children, Brenda Dodd and her husband, Dennis of North Little Rock, AR, Sherry Mason of Mountain Home, AR, Mandy Switzer of Mountain Home, AR and Travis Southard and his wife, Elayna of Norfork, AR; five grandchildren, Ashley Wells (Stephen), Sonya Mullen, Steven Switzer, Case Southard and Uriah Southard; one great-grandson, William Mullen; two nephews, Robbie Southard and Marty Southard and one very special granddaughter, Ariel Fountain. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Virgil Southard; one son-in-law, Rick Mason and his wife, Zella (Hickman) Southard.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. at Conner Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Norfork First Baptist Church with Joey Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Galatia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Hickman, Jack Hickman, Tony Hickman, Michael Hickman, Case Southard and Jerry Skidmore. Honorary pallbearers will be Uriah Southard, Bryson Fountain, Dennis Dodd, Stephen Wells and Steve Chapman.
