Robert Andrew Spinder, 77, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, of Granbury, passed away late on Wednesday evening, April 3, 2024, in his Granbury home.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7, on Monday evening, April 8, at the Wiley Funeral Home, 400 Highway 377 East in Granbury. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11 A.M., on Tuesday, April 9, at the First Christian Church of Granbury. Burial will follow at Holly Hills Cemetery with Military Rites.
Robert was born on April 8, 1946, in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late John and Julie Spinder. He proudly served his country in the USAF for over 23 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 83 and the First Christian Church of Granbury. Robert and his wife Cynthia enjoyed traveling – particularly taking river cruises. He enjoyed following his native Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed outdoor activities including playing golf, fishing, grilling his famous "Bob Burgers." Additionally, he enjoyed keeping a meticulous and beautiful lawn and home and working in his "mancave" garage. Most of all, Robert will be remembered by his wry sense of humor, the devotion he had toward his family, and for his many friends.
Robert is survived by his wife, Cynthia; his children, Missy and husband Barry Shelley and Jonathan and wife Leslie Spinder; his stepdaughters, Susan and husband Tom Stauch and Amy and husband Erik Van Proyen; his grandchildren, Kyle, Evalynn, and Elyana Spinder; his step-grandchildren, Lauren, Ben, Owen, and Pearl; his brother, Dan and wife Barb Spinder; by several nieces and nephews; and by his faithful dog, Gulliver.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Tim Spinder.
