Millie Spinder

MORTON – Mildred L. "Millie" Spinder, 89, of Morton, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton. Millie was born on October 27, 1935, in Peoria, to Russell and Hazel (Hills) Kling. Millie married Louis "Luke" Spinder on September 28, 1968 in Pekin. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1984. She is also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Joyce Klein and Faye Caroline Kling, and one brother, James Rahrer. Millie is survived by her three children, Peggy Whaley of Peoria, Terry (Heather) Whaley of East Peoria, Randy (Diana Huff) Whaley of Norwood. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Christopher (Kim) Estes of Elmwood, Monica (Matthew) Stahl of Lewistown, David (Tonya) Whaley of Washington, Joshua Whaley of Morton and her six great grandchildren, Brittany Estes, Jamie Estes, Luke Estes, Logan Estes, Savannah Stahl and Sophia Stahl. Millie was a longtime member of Groveland Missionary Church and devoted herself to the Lord by completing many Bible studies, volunteering within the church, and donating to many church causes. Millie took great pride in her home, how she presented herself to the world, and her family. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Memorials may be made to WOOF Therapy Dogs.
