Robert E. "Bob" Sprang, age 88, of Wooster, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Bob was born on December 13, 1936, in Shreve to Ben and Alta (Porter) Sprang and has been an area resident for all of his life.
He married T. Louise Crisco on February 22, 1959, in Wooster. She survives.
Bob worked in Research and Development for the former Rubbermaid, Inc. in Wooster before retiring after 40 years of service.
He had attended Oak Chapel United Methodist Church in Wooster and enjoyed playing pool, fishing, neighborhood golf cart rides, and working in his garage. Bob mostly loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren to whom he was affectionally known as Papaw.
In addition to his loving wife of almost 66 years, he is survived by his children, Debbie Mills of Wooster, Ohio, Bob E. (Pat) Sprang, Jr. of Smithville, Ohio and Diane Bradley of Kennesaw, Georgia; his grandchildren, Bailey Mills, Dustin (Brianna) Bradley, Kyle (Liz) Mills and Travis Bradley; great-grandchildren, Joey Hood, Cameron Bradley and Mavrik Mills; his siblings, Freda (Steven) Meyer of Shreve, Irvin (Kathy) Sprang of Strasburg, Shirley Ernst of Lakeville, Treva (Tom) Sprang of Holmesville, Linda (Donnie) Strock of Moreland, Lois Gard of Shreve, and Loretta (Scott) Spitler of Wooster; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his siblings Doris Meyers, Donald Sprang, Leslie Sprang, David Sprang.
Services will be on Saturday, February 8, 2025, 1:00 pm at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with Pastor John Finn officiating followed by interment at Wooster Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to services (12:00 pm - 1:00 pm) on Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Pittsburg Fire and Rescue Dept. 3311 N. Elyria Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 or Ohio's Hospice Life Care, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
