Robert "Bob" A. Spriggs, 85, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born in Miami County, Ohio on March 9, 1939, a son of the late Robert Eugene Spriggs and Hazel Marie (Maggert) Spriggs.
On March 28, 1998, Bob married Sandra Darlene (Vance) Spriggs in Dalton, Ohio and she survives along with two daughters, Lisa Spriggs, and Lora Haines; three stepchildren, Paula Fout, Paul Patterson, and Luke (Monica) Coldiron; five grandchildren, Tony (Kay) Spriggs, Brooks (Michelle) Spriggs, Daryn Haines, Tammy Wolaver, and Kristy Spriggs; many beloved great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Baldwin; a brother, Dennis (Joy) Spriggs; and several beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son Lee Spriggs, son-in-law, Mike Haines; his first wife, Donna M. Spriggs; a sister, Jeanie McIntire; and two brothers, David Spriggs, and Jimmy Spriggs.
Bob retired from Copeland Emerson in Sidney, Ohio where he had worked as a machinist. He loved anything pertaining to automobiles, including racing, body and paint repair, and antique cars, especially the Ford Coupe he owned in his earlier years. He loved fishing, farming, working with his hands as a mechanic and welder, sharing stories, and spending time with his family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the New Beginnings Community Church, 127 Main Street in DeGraff, where Pastor Mark Weaver will officiate a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Bob’s memory, to New Beginnings Community Church, 127 Main Street, DeGraff, Ohio 43318.
