Robert Staeger Obituary

Robert Lee Staeger, 86, of Longview, WA died at home from natural causes on February 9, 2023.
Robert (Bob) was born in Port Angeles, WA on July 16, 1936 to Robert W. Staeger and Maxine L. Coffey. He graduated from Sequim High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Speech at Washington State University in Pullman, WA. While in college, he met Marcia Nessen. They were married in 1959 and became parents to Laura, Jill and Terri.
Bob held a variety of jobs including radio and TV broadcaster (at KVOS TV 12 in Bellingham, WA). He also worked at Boeing, Sony-Superscope, and Hewlett Packard, among other companies.
Bob was an avid fan of the WSU Cougars and was a loyal alumnus to his school. He was also a fan of the Seattle pro sports teams.
Following the divorce of his first marriage in 1977, Bob married Viola (Vi) Gourneau. They were married for over 30 years until Vi's death in 2007. In 2008, he met and married Therese M. Taylor.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Marcia Hoffmann, and grandson Douglas Roberts.
Bob is survived by his wife Therese Staeger of Longview, WA; daughters Laura Staeger of Seattle, WA, Jill Bridge of Cornelius, OR, and Terri Staeger of Tacoma, WA; step-daughters Pamela Gourneau of Rolla, ND and Grace George (John) of Longview, WA; grandchildren Robert Bridge and Carl Brown; and 4 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, WA at 2pm on March 4, 2023.
