Robert Stankiewicz Obituary

Robert J. Stankiewicz

Robert J. Stankiewicz, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Chicago and raised in Glenview, Bob attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison before embarking on a successful career in the insurance industry, where he was known for his dedication, professionalism, and integrity.

Earlier in life, Bob was married to the late Patricia, a cherished chapter of his story that remained close to his heart. In time, he was fortunate to find love again, marrying Roberta - "Bert" - with whom he shared 15 wonderful years. Their life together was rich with love, laughter, shared interests, and travel.

He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and golf. Bob approached life with curiosity and joy, always eager to try something new or share a laugh with those around him.

Bob was a devoted stepfather to Kim (Tim) Witt, Jamie Zimmerman, and Stacie (Casey) McIlhon; and a proud grandfather - known affectionately as "Papa Bob" - to Collin, Lauren, Nicholas, Nathan, Victoria, Ryan, Kiera, and Luke. He was also a loving uncle to Dana ( Michael Henry) Scheer and Scott (Jenny) Scheer, and a great-uncle to Jack and Nick.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Jeanette Stankiewicz; and his sister, Joan Scheer. He will be dearly missed by his extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and the many friends whose lives he touched with warmth, kindness, and generosity of spirit.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Bob's memory.

A visitation will be held at Holy Family Church in Inverness on Monday, April 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with a funeral Mass immediately following.

Bert I want to say Im so sorry for your loss. Uncle Bob was a great man, friend and uncle to me. Some of my favorite memories are in tbe feilds of Iowa pheasant hunting with all the guys. Oh the conversations a 10 year old was involved in. He aways treated me like a adult. He gave me some of the greatest advice. He was just an all around great man. He will be dearly missed. Best wishes from the Martins In Waynesville Mo.

First to Bert, my deepest condolences. Thank you for have given him life after the loss of Aunt Pat. I loved and respected Uncle Bob. He was a great man and i was lucky to have him in my life. His Donold Duck impression was akways great. My most memorable times with him was in the feilds of Iowa pheasant hunting. Oh tge conversations we would have. He never treated me as a kid, he talked to me like an adult. Even though I had to give up my room for them when they would visit and help grandma clean. But its was always great to see him. I akways loved putting him on the trout when he would come down for visits. It was always a special time when he would come down. Uncle Bob you will be missed. I always think of you in fond memories. Rest in peace my friend.

Uncle Bob will be deeply missed. When he and Aunt Pat would visit back home it was a highlight in my childhood. He was a generous and inspirational man who gave me some of the best advice of my young life. Literally giving me permission to be a better man. Later, opening his home while I was in the Military at Great Lakes they gave me a much needed reprieve from the military grind. I will always cherish my time with him and carry his memory in my heart. You have been called home to our Father, rest in piece Uncle Bob your work on this mortal plane is complete.

I will always remember those special times when uncle Bob and aunt visited our family. We would go fishing on the Gasconade river or at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. I visited them once in Chicago when I was young and he took me to a Cubs game. He will be missed. Darin Brown
