Robert Lee Starks, age 73, was born on August 21, 1951, to Sipeo Starks and Mae Ella Eckwood Starks in Humphrey, Arkansas. He departed this life on March 25, 2025.
He was raised alongside his nine siblings in Humphrey. Robert accepted Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Humphrey. He also attended Mt. Olive C.O.G.I.C. Church under the leadership of Pastor Elder Robert McDonald, where he was an active member of Bible study and Sunday school.
Robert attended Rosenwald School and Humphrey High School in Humphrey. He later joined the Job Corps at an early age, graduating as a Laundry Technician Specialist. Robert later served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1974 as a communications operator. After his military service, he worked as a taxicab driver for the Black & White Cab Company and the Yellow Cab Company for 45 years, enjoying the opportunity to help people and meeting many family members and friends along the way.
He was preceded in death by his father Sipeo Starks; mother Mae Ella Starks; sister Bessie Mae Starks-Dexter (Kenneth); sister Hattie Marilyn Starks-Redus; brother William Howard Starks; grandmother Hattie Bolden Eckwood; grandfather William Eckwood; grandmother Gertrude Sumler Starks; and grandfather Howard Starks.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Krystal Jones of Little Rock, AR; five grandchildren Quan, Aniyah, Mariyah, Shaniya, and Kensley; three brothers: Melvin Starks (Florence, deceased) of North Little Rock, AR, Rickey Starks (Burnestine, deceased) of Humphrey, AR, and Michael Starks of Humphrey, AR; three sisters Debbie Starks-Brown (Robert, deceased) of North Little Rock, AR, Jennifer Starks-Davis (Steve) of Tallahassee, FL, and Sylvia Starks-Brown (Anthony) of Sherwood, AR; brother-in-law Fredrick Redus (Hattie, deceased) of Sherwood, AR; a special friend of 33 years, Ms. Linda Spring of North Little Rock, AR; two special cousins Linda Jones of Humphrey, AR and Gary Lindsey of Benton, AR; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.
