Robert M. Steets Sr.

Robert Matthew Steets Sr., 80, of West Long Branch, passed away peacefully Friday at his home.
Robert was born in Irvington and raised in Long Branch. He was a graduate of Long Branch High School and following graduation he began his working career, eventually going to New Jersey American Water where he would work for over 30 years before retiring. Robert married Rosanne, and the two would settle in West Long Branch to raise their 2 children.
Robert enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, and watching the horse races with family and friends at Monmouth Park Race Track. He was most proud of being a Pop Pop to his 5 grandchildren and loved telling them stories. Bob became known to all as "Pop Pop" and always had a smile on his face.
Robert is predeceased by his wife Rosanne; his siblings Louie Steets and his wife Marie, and Richie Steets.
Robert is survived by his children Robert Steets Jr., and his wife Lauren, and Jennifer Howe and her husband Ed; his siblings Steve Steets and his wife Loreta, and Cathy Salerno; and his grandchildren Bobby, Lindsay, Lexi, Sophia and Amelia.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25th from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, NJ 07740. Mass of Christian burial Wednesday, June 26th, 10:30 am at St. Michael's RC Church, 800 Ocean Avenue, Long Branch. Entombment to follow in Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
