Robert Edwin Stetson, was born on April 14, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts. A man of unwavering faith, Robert was ordained as an American Baptist minister following his graduation from Brown University and Andover Newton Theological Seminary. His spirited nature and loving heart led him to a life of serving others, spreading love, and imparting wisdom. The way he lived his life was a testament to the verse, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." (John 13:34).
Robert made his home in Littleton, Massachusetts, where he was not just a respected clergyman but also a beloved member of the community. His service included A New Day in Groton, and Roslindale Baptist Church, among many others. His hobbies were as diverse as his spirit; he loved exploring new restaurants, attending concerts and plays, gardening, bird watching and reading. He loved vacationing in Maine, embarking on cruises and spending time with family. His passion for his community was evident in his active participation in the Masonic Lodge and serving the Council on Aging.
Robert is survived by his wife Eleanor, his children Douglas (Susan), Melanie Howard (Chris), and Cynthia Bird (Duncan), and his brother David (Rose). Robert will be greatly missed by his 4 grandchildren: Kristen (Patrick), Matthew, Kiersten, and Robert and 4 great grandchildren: Samuel, Lucas, Madeline, and Caroline. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Ludmilla, and his brother Cash.
Robert was called home to Christ on March 31, 2025. His life and legacy will be celebrated at a visitation on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Littleton, 461 King Street, Littleton, Massachusetts, 01460.
