Robert "Bob" Stierman, 97, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. He was born in Elgin, IL on October 28, 1926 to Robert J. and Leona (Roth) Stierman and married Sandra J. Ballard on January 29, 1972 in Rockford. Bob was a 1944 graduate of Rockford East High School. He worked at Sundstrand and retired in 1989 after 45 years. He enjoyed refinishing furniture, golfing and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Stierman; children, Charles (Lynn) Stierman, Gail Daer, Gary Walt, Gregg (Keli) Walt and Barbara (Rudy) Schmidt; grandchildren, Dan (Sheila) Stierman, Leslie (Matthew) Pearlson, Aaron (Erin) Thor, Robert (Carol) Thor, Cassandra Daer, Stephanie (Kevin) Lawson, Ryan (Tabitha) Walt, Tiffany (Michael) Woulfe, Troy Schmidt, Nathan Walt and Trevor Walt; and several great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his first wife, Elaine Stierman; daughter, Cynthia Stierman; parents; granddaughter, Michelle Walt and sister, Pat Kardell.
Memorial service will be at 2:00pm with a visitation from 1:00pm until the service on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2821 N. Bell School Road, Rockford, IL 61107.
