Robert "Bob" Thomas Stockdale, the son of Thomas and Lucille (Michehl) Stockdale, was born on July 12th, 1942 in Webster County, IA. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating with the "Class of 1960". After high school Bob joined the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1965.
Bob was united in marriage to Mary Ann Marrin on May 2nd 1963 in Las Vegas Nevada. Together they had three children: Rick, Greg and Monica.
Bob worked early on as a mechanic and painter then started working for the food industry. He was a restaurant owner of Pasquale's pizza in Des Moines for 12 years, owned the Pizza and Lobster Emporium in Fort Dodge and owned Stocky's Fine Food and Ale in Eagle Grove. After several years in the food service, he worked for Elextrolux for 22 years.
Bob was a "Mr Fix-it" and would work on anything from mechanics to house projects. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren and most of all the cherished time with his wife, Mary Ann.
Bob passed away on Sunday, October 12th, surrounded by loved ones, at Southfield Wellness in Webster City, at the age of 83 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lucille Sto
ckdale; wife, Mary Ann, siblings: Betty Rasmussen, Jim Stockdale, Danny Stockdale, Jerry Stockdale, Kenny Stockdale and Connie McConnell; and grandson, Mason Stockdale.
Survivors include his children: Rick Stockdale (Rhonda), Greg Stockdale (Lisa) and Monica Matthes (Keith); grandchildren: Gunnar (Saskia), Maddie (Caleb), Kiera (Alec) and Thomas (Yuli); 5 great-grandchildren; siblings: Gene Stockdale, Joyce Hill (Del), Diane Terwilliger, Luann Brickei (Tom), Doris Madson, David Stockdale (Jim), Marcia Sadler (Tim), Tim Stockdale (Linda) and Mark Stockdale (Kris); and sisters-in-law: Jan Stockdale, Robin Stockdale and Pam Stockdale.
