While at Harvard he met fellow student Juanita "Nita" Cohen, who would become his wife of 64 years. The two married in 1959.During their first year of marriage, Bob served in Japan while Nita completed her masters degree and in 1961 the two were reunited in San Diego. They moved to Cleveland so that Bob could attend law school at Case Western Reserve University.
He received his J.D. in 1964 and was admitted to the Ohio Bar that same year. His professional journey included a start at the East Ohio Gas Company, shortly after which he became Assistant Director of the Legal Aid Society. Bob had many interests, one of which was reading and writing about history. He shared
with his family his love of classic movies, the Great American Songbook, and theater.
He was a true fan of the Cleveland Indians since boyhood and liked to share stories
from the team's glory days of winning the pennant and World Series. On quiet evenings
he played bridge with family and friends. He and Nita traveled extensively for both
business and pleasure.

To Nita and Bob´s children and grandsons. Jim and I send our heartfelt condolences to you over the loss of your father/grandfather. Bob was a long time friend and he will be truly missed. We were lucky to celebrate Jim´s retirement with Nita and Bob in St. Augustine´s just ten short years ago. Seems like yesterday. He was so proud of all of you and not a Christmas went by that we didn´t get the latest photo of Jacob and Joseph. Truly, we will carry Nita and Bob forever in our hearts and their contributions to this world will always be remembered. Thank you for sharing them with us.
