Publish in a newspaper

With heavy hearts we announce that Robert (Bob) Lee Swank, 85, was reunited with his beloved wife Theresa and his cherished son Perry on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. He passed away at home with family by his side.

Bob was embraced as a father or brother by many of the people that entered his life. His kind heart, strong faith and genuine concern for others touched many individuals during their time of need and had a lasting impact on their lives.

Bob made his career in the printing industry and forged lasting friendships with several of his coworkers. He was an avid sports fan enjoying football, baseball, basketball and tennis, just to name a few. He had a special place in his heart for drag racing as he competed in and won several competitions during his younger years. His passion for God and the Catholic church was inspiring to everyone around him. He always ended his visits with a sincere wish of "God bless you".

Bob will be forever missed by his children Christina, Ken and Laurinda, his sister Pat, his nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous friends and family.

Family and friends will be received at the Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S Meridian St., Greenwood, IN 46143 on Wednesday October 8th from 10:30 a.m. through 12 p.m., followed by a funeral Mass. Burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 435 W. Troy Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46225.

Bob held a deep respect for veterans and first responders. Therefore, our family requests that in lieu of flowers you make a donation to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T.org).

He Only Takes the Best

By Unknown

God saw that he was getting tired,

A cure was not to be.

So He put His arms around him

and whispered, "Come with Me."

With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer,

And saw him fade away.

Although we loved him dearly,

We could not make him stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,

Hard working hands to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes "the best."
