Margaret "Peggy" Welch, 79, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025. Born on June 8, 1946, in Indianapolis to the late Paul and Marie Rathz, Peggy was a lifelong Hoosier who treasured her family and faith.

She attended Sacred Heart Elementary and High Schools, where she built friendships and values that guided her throughout her life. Peggy dedicated over 40 years of service as the Great Lakes Regional Secretary for Contech Construction Products, retiring in 2009. She was admired by colleagues for her professionalism, dedication, and humor.

Peggy married the love of her life, Jim Welch, with whom she shared 49 years of love and laughter until his passing in 2017. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Steve (Yunqing) and Doug (Donna), and a loving stepmother to Greg Welch and Kim (Steve) Lewis. She was a proud grandmother to Sebastian and cherished her role as great-grandmother to Lucas and Nathan.

Beyond her career and family, Peggy delighted in reading mystery novels, watching game shows, and spending time with her loved ones. She was known for her giving spirit, unwavering devotion to her family, and a sharp wit paired with a sarcastic sense of humor that could always make those around her smile.

Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church in Greenwood, Indiana. A funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 AM, followed by a burial procession at Holy Cross Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Peggy's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
