It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Edgar Royal Prosser III, who departed this life on November 14th, 2025, at the age of seventy-two. "Ed" was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend and a unique individual whose warmth, kindness, and genuine nature touched the lives of all who knew him.
Born on August 27, 1953, Ed lived a life full of exceptional storytelling, adventure, love, laughter, and dedication to family. Ed will be fondly remembered for his kind smile, gentle spirit, and the countless memories shared with those closest to him. For several years, Ed delighted children, elders, hospital patients, friends, and family as his role of Santa Claus! His eyes truly twinkled when children walked into the room.
Ed is survived by his immediate family: Lisa L (Phillips) Prosser, whom he married November 25, 1978, Lucas T. Prosser (and Stacey Prosser), Audra L. Scott (and Billy Scott), Emma K. Prosser Smith (and Joshua Smith) children, Dominic G. Scott, Isaiah Smith, Henry R. Scott, Raisie Smith, Aullie J. Scott, Ruby Smith, Ella K. Prosser, Ian Smith and William B. Prosser grandchildren, Donna K. Moulder, (and David Moulder) siblings, and many nieces and nephews, devoted friends, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by Edgar R. Prosser, Jr. and Mary Sparks Prosser (parents), Gerald R. Prosser (brother), and grandparents.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all who supported Ed throughout his life.
Ed served in the United States Navy and the Indiana National Guard. He was a highly specialized Boiler and Machinery Consultant and Authorized Inspector Supervisor according to the ASME Code. He loved the ocean, and boating, four-wheel drive vehicles, motorcycles, dirt bikes, and antique John Deere tractors as his primary hobbies.
Visitation will take place at Friedens United Church of Christ, 8300 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, on Friday, November 21st from 4-7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be private for family only.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs, 777 N Meridian Street, Suite 300, Indianapolis IN 46204-2738 or Madison Township Fire Department, 7047 E. Landersdale Road, Camby, IN 46113, or Brooklyn Volunteer Fire Department, 10 N. Main Street, Brooklyn, IN 46111 in honor of Edgar R. Prosser, III.
Ed will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service, Greenwood Chapel. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.stpierrefamilyfuneral.com.

We send our love, prayers & condolences to all of the family. Ed and Lisa are dear cherished friends. We spent many wonderful times together laughing, going out to dinner, talking around the campfire and spending time on Great Mates in Marathon Key, traveling down to Key West. We all dressed up as Pirates, of course Ed & Lisa looked quite official in their pirate outfits and we had a blast! We will miss Ed, his smiles and laughs but will remember all the fond memories. Our Love, Mark & Melody Valenti
