Karen Sue Dugan-Gunther

November 13, 1959 – November 19, 2025

Karen Sue Dugan-Gunther, 66, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Born in Indianapolis on November 13, 1959, she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Isabella McGuire (Coutts) Dugan.

Karen attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Roncalli High School in 1978. She later met the love of her life, Douglas A. Gunther, and the two were married on December 14, 1999. Together, they blended their families with grace and devotion, creating a home filled with love.

Family was Karen's greatest joy, especially her grandchildren, who were the highlight of her life. She was known for her kindness, empathy, and organizational spirit. Karen enjoyed skiing, gardening, caring for her dogs, RVing, and traveling with her husband. She was the rock of her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Douglas A. Gunther; children, Douglas (Amy) Gunther, Jr., Jason (Anita) Gunther, Kate Gunther, and Emily (Jay) Flint; sisters, Kathy (David) Teachout and Patti (Craig) Sutton; brother, James E. (Beth) Dugan; grandchildren, Tyler, Lily, Jason Jr., Hunter, and Amilea Gunther, Cory (Sarah) Hall, and Reese and Wesley Flint; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Samuel; and nieces and nephews, Andrea, Steven, Sarah, Ben, Daniel, James, Brian, and Amanda.

Private family services will be held at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services.
