Obituary of Robert J. Swenson
Robert J. Swenson, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 70 years old.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Ting Swenson; his son, Arin Swenson; his daughter, Ariel Swenson; and his sister, Ranee Fick.
Bob was born in Passaic, NJ to the late Jack and Jane Swenson. At age 17 Bob faced the loss of his father, which forged a deep bond between he and his sister Ranee. Early in life they navigated life's challenges, supporting one another with unwavering love and resilience. Bob and Ranee remained close for the rest of their lives.
In 1992, Bob married his best friend, Ting, and together they created a warm and nurturing home where they raised their two children. They lived in Bayville for 8 years, then Denville for the next 20 years before moving to Florham Park. Bob was a dedicated father and husband, always prioritizing his family and instilling in them the values of kindness, hard work, and perseverance.
Bob enjoyed a successful career as a construction project manager, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his expertise and integrity. His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for life outside of the office.
An avid traveler, Bob cherished the memories made during his recent trip to Maine with Ting, where they explored the beauty of nature together. He had a profound love for the outdoors, often spending time gardening and cultivating a vibrant array of flowers and vegetables. His appreciation for nature extended to bird watching, scuba diving and skiing, activities that brought him joy and tranquility. Bob also enjoyed reading.
Bob was also a talented watercolor painter, expressing his creativity through art. He had a deep love for cooking, often sharing his late mother's recipes with Ranee, and enjoyed the rhythms of classic rock music, playing the guitar in his younger years. Bob especially loved building, flying and collecting radio-controlled airplanes, a lifelong hobby of his which he shared with his father when he was young. He spent many hours building and flying RC airplanes with his father.
Bob's warmth, humor, and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
Funeral services will be held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Bob's memory to , honoring his faith and the love he shared with others.
Rest in peace, Bob. Your legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know you.
