Robert P. Taulman, 80, of Seymour, passed away 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
Born December 17, 1943, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Homer and Gladys (Brown) Taulman. He married Eva Rae Combest in May of 1995 in Seymour; she preceded him in death on June 15, 2015.
Robert was a 1965 graduate of Columbus East High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a supervisor for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for 40 years. Robert enjoyed playing Bingo, going to casinos, and sitting outdoors. He loved watching high school and college basketball, professional hockey, basketball, football, and baseball, and NASCAR.
He is survived by his son, Hershel Junior Wells of Inverness, Florida; daughter-in-law, Kellie Renee Rafferty Wells of Inverness, Florida; sister, Ruth Hardin of Columbus; grandchildren, Tressa Wells of Seymour, Kyle (Peggy) Wells of New Port Ritchie, Florida, Ryan Rafferty, Levi Rafferty, Autumn Willy, and Amber Willy, all of Inverness, Florida, Dalton (Brianna) Rafferty of Beverly Hills, Florida, and Jonathan Fandrich of West Virginia; great-grandchildren, Greycie Driver of North Vernon, Grayson Rafferty and Amelia Rafferty of Beverly Hills, Florida, James Tamen-Wells of New Port Ritchie, Florida, and Elizabeth Fandrich and Seth Fandrich, both of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wayne, Jerry, Jess, and Jack Taulman; sisters, Louise Walls, Marcella Cascian, Betty Myers, and Laverne Taulman; two nieces; and two nephews.
A funeral service for Robert will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Indiana Veterans Cemetery in Madison with Evangelist Daniel Ison officiating. Military rites will be given by members of the American Legion Post #9.
Memorials may be given in honor of Robert through the funeral home for expenses.
