Terhaar, Robert J.

Oct 28, 1927 - Sep 24, 2025

Of Lockport, passed away September 24, 2025. Born in Buffalo October 28, 1927, the son of John L. and Muriel P. (Baird) Terhaar. Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1946 – 1947 and worked at Westinghouse in Cheektowaga where he was a metal worker. He enjoyed reading books and gardening. Robert is survived by his children, David Terhaar, Robert Terhaar II, Roberta Terhaar, Darlene Cooner, and Jacqueline (David) Lincoln; son-in-law, Richard Leighton; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Robert Kolata. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Edna (Streebel) Terhaar in 2008; daughter, Dawn Leighton; and siblings, Charles, Edward, and Patricia Terhaar and Frances Mollosky. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation Monday, Sept. 29th from 10 AM – 12 Noon with services at 12 Noon at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Donations to Niagara Hospice at www.niagarahospice.org or NYS Talking Book & Braille Library at www.nysl.nysed.gov would be appreciated. Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
