Robert Thomas Obituary
Public viewing will be Monday, July 29, 2024 from 2-6 PM. Visitation with the family will be from 4-6 PM.
Robert Lee Thomas, Jr. was born March 2, 1937 in Forsyth, GA to Robert and Ruth Thomas. He departed this life Wednesday, July 24, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Jon Paul, Julius, James, Mary and his wife Evelyn.
Robert Jr. or Hicks in which his family and friends affectionately called him attended Hubbard Training School. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1955 and Honorably Discharged in 1958. After returning back home to Forsyth, he joined the workforce and married Evelyn Brantley. In 2013, he retired from the County as a truck driver.
Robert Jr. was also a member of the community baseball team where he was an excellent catcher. In his spare time, he enjoyed talking with friends on the CB Radio, and detailing his vehicles.
Robert Jr. leaves to cherish his memories three sons, Kendrix, Derrick (Melody) of Macon, GA; Darrell of Dallas, TX; one loving sister and caregiver Laura Redding (Lewis) of Forsyth, GA; one aunt Laura Freeman of Garfield, NJ; one sister-in-law Alice Thomas of Forsyth, GA; one granddaughter Mia of Macon, GA; two loving goddaughters Kimbley Ponder, Asia Buckner, dear friend Jimmy Zellner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Robert Jr. will be missed and his memory, love and devotion will be cherished forever.
