Robert Keven Thompson (Kevin Thompson), 60, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on March 3, 2024, after a brief hospital stay.
He was born on October 8, 1963, in Ogden, Utah to loving parents Judith and Reed Thompson. He was raised in Ogden along with his siblings Cherryl Ann, Rulon Berkley (Tim) and Ronald Lynn. Kevin had a number of fond memories from his youth and enjoyed reminiscing and sharing stories of his younger years.
In 1996 Kevin Thompson married Margaret Wiberg in Ogden, Utah. Kevin and Margaret would settle in Syracuse, Utah where they raised 4 sons, Ross, Justin, Jarred, Shelton and daughter Cheyenne. They also opened their home to many foster children throughout the years. Family was very important to Kevin, he made sure to continue family gatherings for holidays after Margaret passed.
Kevin was also a very talented man. He had a number of skills and worked very hard to take care of his family. For a number of years, he was employed as a mechanic. Friends and family often asked for help with vehicles and Kevin was always more than happy and willing to assist. Kevin added to his skills when he took a position in manufacturing at Utility Trailer Co. where he worked for over 30 years.
Kevin was a man full of life. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly camping, hunting, and riding around in his side by side. Every opportunity he could, he would plan time for camping with his family and friends. Over the last few years, he would often camp with his friend Lisa and her family, they were very special to him.
Kevin will undoubtedly be remembered for his sense of humor. He never missed an opportunity to crack a joke, even while he was in the hospital. He was always sharing humorous stories of the pranks he pulled during his youth.
Kevin is survived by his sister Cherryl and brother Tim, his children Ross, Justin, Jarred, Cheyenne, Shelton, Tausha, Julie and Jody Thompson, his 8 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald and wife Margaret.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary. 869 South 2000 West, Syracuse UT. Friends may visit with family on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. A graveside service will be held shortly after the funeral at the Syracuse City CemeteryTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
